One of my pet peeves as a designer is when asked to “just make it pretty.” Yes, I can create beautiful, creative designs—but I do more than that. With every piece I create I think about the audience, the goal, the copy and how to effectively communicate the message. This belief led me to study user experience design, where a main goal is to create successful, enjoyable digital interactions. (The other goal being business needs). I’ve since gained more research skills, and web and mobile design skills that I apply in my work every day.
